Know your flow workshops

Understanding your body. Knowing what's normal. Finding your voice.

A supportive menstrual health workshop for young people aged 11–16.

Starting your period can bring questions, uncertainty and sometimes embarrassment.

Know Your Flow helps young people understand their bodies, manage their periods and feel more confident asking for help when something doesn't feel right.

Because knowing what's normal matters — and knowing when to ask for support matters too.

What Is Know Your Flow?

Know Your Flow is an interactive menstrual health workshop created by Gyne Talks.

It provides clear, age-appropriate information about periods, puberty and menstrual wellbeing in a relaxed, supportive environment where young people can learn, participate and ask questions without embarrassment or judgement.

The aim is simple: to help young people feel informed, prepared and confident about their periods.

What Will We Explore?

Understanding Your Menstrual Cycle
What happens during the cycle and why periods can differ from person to person.

Periods & Period Products
Exploring different products, how to use them and how to choose what feels right for you.

Managing Your Period at School
Practical tips for feeling prepared, managing unexpected periods and knowing where to find support.

Hormones, Emotions & Your Cycle
Understanding how hormonal changes can affect how we feel physically and emotionally.

What's Normal?
Learning about common experiences, recognising when something may need attention and knowing where to seek help.

Breaking Down Period Stigma
Challenging myths and embarrassment, and making it easier to talk openly about periods.

What Will Young People Gain?

Know Your Flow aims to help young people:

  • Understand their bodies and menstrual cycle.
  • Feel prepared to manage their periods at school and in everyday life.
  • Become more confident asking questions and seeking support.
  • Understand period products and menstrual wellbeing.
  • Recognise when something doesn't feel right and know where to turn.

Most importantly, they'll leave knowing that there are no silly questions when it comes to understanding your body.

A Safe & Supportive Space

Talking about periods can feel uncomfortable, especially for young people who are still finding their confidence.

Know Your Flow is designed to be:

  • Age-appropriate — clear information suited to young people aged 11–16.
  • Inclusive — recognising that everyone's experience is different.
  • Non-judgemental — questions are welcomed, without embarrassment.
  • Interactive — encouraging participation, curiosity and conversation.

Young people are never expected to share personal experiences or disclose private information.

Who Is It For?

Know Your Flow is for young people aged 11–16, whether they're approaching their first period, have been menstruating for years or simply want to understand their bodies better.

You don't need to be experiencing a particular problem to benefit.

Know Your Flow is about giving young people knowledge before they need it.

For Parents & Carers

It's important to know that young people are receiving accurate information in a safe and supportive environment.

Know Your Flow is designed to complement conversations at home, giving young people the knowledge and confidence to keep asking questions and talking to trusted adults.

The workshop doesn't replace the support of parents, carers or healthcare professionals. It helps young people build a foundation of understanding so they feel better equipped to manage their menstrual health.

Workshops for Schools & Youth Groups

Know Your Flow is part of the wider Gyne Talks mission to improve menstrual health education from an early age.

Workshops can be explored by schools, youth groups and community organisations looking to provide young people with accessible, practical menstrual health education.

If you'd like to discuss a workshop for your group or find out about future opportunities, please get in touch.
